Description
This elegant pair of antique porcelain plates was made by Moritz Zdekauer in Karlovy Vary, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Decorated with graceful dancing Greek nymphs, the design reflects the classical taste and refined artistic style associated with fine European porcelain from the late 19th and early 20th century.
The plates are richly finished with gold details and decorative borders in green and red, giving them a vibrant and luxurious appearance. They can be used as serving plates or displayed as decorative wall plates, as they are fitted for hanging. Their strong visual appeal and classical subject matter make them especially attractive for collectors of antique porcelain and neoclassical décor.
The mark with the crowned eagle and MZ Austria dates these pieces to approximately 1884–1909. One additional number appears in the paste. The plates are in very good antique condition and remain beautiful examples of Austrian porcelain craftsmanship.
